Power classes

Choose the right power for your site

A quick guide to what each class of DC fast charger is for and how long a typical car takes. Tell us your site and we will confirm the models that suit it.

80kW DC

Entry high-power DC

Typical charging time (10–80%): About 25–40 min

Suited to: Dealerships, hotels, offices, shopping centres and small commercial sites where vehicles park for 30 minutes or more.

  • A practical first step into DC fast charging for a single site
  • Lower electrical load than the higher classes
  • Good fit where visits are planned and not rushed

120kW DC

The all-round commercial choice

Typical charging time (10–80%): About 20–35 min

Suited to: Public charging stations, fuel-station forecourts, fleet depots and busy retail or parking sites.

  • A common size for public and commercial stations
  • Two charging handles on the station
  • Balances charging speed against supply and installation needs

160kW DC

Faster turnaround for busy sites

Typical charging time (10–80%): About 18–25 min

Suited to: Busy city stations, highway-side sites and fleets that need vehicles back on the road quickly.

  • Shorter stops for vehicles that can accept higher power
  • Suits sites with steady, repeat traffic
  • Needs a stronger electrical supply than the lower classes

240kW DC

Highest power for high-traffic hubs

Typical charging time (10–80%): Under 20 min, if the vehicle can accept it

Suited to: Highway charging hubs, bus and fleet terminals and high-traffic public stations.

  • Built for locations where throughput matters most
  • Only vehicles with high DC charging capability can use the full power
  • Supply, space and layout are planned carefully at survey stage

Good to know

  • Our stations come with two charging handles.
  • The charger's rating is its maximum. A car that can only accept a lower power charges at that lower rate, even on a 240 kW charger.
  • Times are for a typical 40–50 kWh battery from 10% to 80%. Charging slows near full, in hot weather and with larger batteries.
  • Most electric cars sold in India use the CCS2 connector for DC charging. We confirm the connector and compatibility before recommending a charger.
  • DC fast chargers normally need a three-phase electrical supply. The exact requirement is confirmed at a site survey.

These are indicative guides, not product specifications. Figures are based on published industry guides: MeraEV: DC fast charger guide, Bolt.Earth: how long does it take to charge an EV?. Exact models and ratings are confirmed on enquiry.

The basics

What DC fast charging means for you

Power goes straight to the battery

A DC fast charger delivers direct current to the vehicle's battery rather than relying on the car's onboard charger, which is why it suits quick top-ups.

The vehicle sets the pace

A charger's rating is its maximum. The actual charging rate depends on what the vehicle and its battery can accept at that moment.

Built for commercial use

High-power charging is aimed at stations, fleets, businesses and sites where vehicles need to be back on the road quickly.

Choosing a charger

What we'll ask you

There is no single right charger. These are the questions that help us recommend one properly.

  • Which vehicles you expect to charge, and their DC charging capability
  • The connector standard your vehicles need
  • Your site, parking layout and available space
  • The electrical supply you can make available at the site
  • How many vehicles you expect to serve, and how often

A note on compatibility. We check a vehicle against a charger before recommending it. We never assume every EV works with every charger.
